Why Buy A Brand New Corded Telephone?

Tuesday July 13, 2010

For some people corded telephones are things that remain in the past, rather than being useful in today’s world. But if you have ever had a prolonged power cut and been unable to use your cordless phone you will know it does indeed pay to have one around for emergencies at least.

But why not just buy a second hand one? Why should you buy a brand new corded phone instead?

There are several reasons why new is the best course to take in this situation. For starters a new corded phone will come with a guarantee. This means that if you find it doesn’t work or there is something that isn’t quite right with it, you can take it back within the terms of the guarantee. This gives you peace of mind you won’t get if you buy a second hand one.

It might be tempting to pick up a second hand phone for a pound or two at a boot fair, but how do you know it is going to work? The same applies for buying one online. You are not fully covered as you would be if you bought a brand new model.

Another good reason for buying brand new is that it gives you so much more choice. You can get a new and untouched phone in pristine condition and you have countless different models and designs to choose from. This makes it a lot easier to figure out what one is best for you. Instead of being reduced to however many corded phones you can find on a second hand basis, you can simply go online and look through all the catalogues and websites of corded phones that are for sale.

What’s more if you have something very specific you would like you can specify that as you use Google to find the phone you would like. It makes the search a lot easier and nothing is left to chance either.

The prices of corded phones when bought brand new are not exactly prohibitive anyway. You will be surprised at how cheap some of them are and how many features you can get for the price too. Why would you go for anything else when a brand new phone has so many benefits?

Corded phones definitely have their place in the home. Don’t take any chances with second hand buys – go for new instead.
